BIOGRAPHY

BONDAR Alexander, painter, sculptor, portraitist

Born and raised in Cherkasy, Ukraine, in 1963.

From 1981 to 1987, I studied at the Saint Petersburg State Institute of Technology. In parallel, I followed the painting classes at the Repin Academic Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in Saint-Petersburg. It is the oldest Russian institution of higher artistic education.

I have always been fond of classical painting and the works of Salvador Dalí.

I master the techniques in mini sculpture and painting. In the 2020's I worked a lot with clay and plaster. Several of my sculptures were donated to the Chigirin Museum in Ukraine.

Two works were selected in 2016 for the contemporary art exhibition "Exhibit Here", which took place in London.

One of the mini-sculptures inspired by Salvador Dali's art was sold at the silent auction supporting London Ukrainian Catholic University in 2017. Some I donated.

The impetus to my oil paintings was numerous visits to the world museums in the United Kingdom, France and Spain.
